On December 21, 2010 the replacement of an tunnel kiln exit-traverser for a new one, supplied by KIP Brno, spol. s. r. o., was finished. After the functional tests and worker training in the company PD Refractories CZ a.s. Velké Opatovice, plant 03, Dinaska Svitavy, the traverser was put into trial operation. The delivery included technical documentation, a declaration of conformity and a testing protocol of a power distributor.
On December 13, 2010 KIP Brno and Cihelna Hodonín, s.r.o. signed.a contract for the delivery of wiring documentation of entrance- and exit- traversers, including delivery of control software, testing and activation. The kiln will be equipped with control room operating panels for monitoring operating conditions and defects of traversers.
Representatives of KIP Brno attended a professional conference on the topic "Completion of Temelin NPP - an opportunity for the Czech industry?" at the International Engineering Fair at the Brno Exhibition Centre. The subject of the conference was a professional discussion with leading representatives of trade associations (Confederation of Industry of the Czech Republic, Czech Chamber of Commerce) about the opportunities and potential of Czech companies for the completion of Temelin NPP. The conference was also attended by the government agent for the completion of Temelin NPP Mgr. Vaclav Bartuska, the Deputy Minister of MIT Ing. Milan Hovorka and other prominent representatives. One of the subjects of the conference was a presentation of projects for completion of units 3 and 4 of Temelin NPP. The potential suppliers Škoda JS a.s., Westinghouse Electric and AREVA presented their ideas of the utilization of Czech suppliers in the supply of technological systems.
